542 million. 542 million years. Seems like a long time? Well, not if you are Chris Burda from Collapse Under the Empire and your new project tries to span that vastly spacious, amazingly long and undisputable unintelligible period. Welcome to Age of Life and their first single “Epoch One” premiered here on VoS just for you today!
While CUTE are on a break and Chris has some time on his hands he conceptualised this project - a new track each month for 16 months and in the end they shall span that period of 542,000,000 years from the past into the future. But what should that sound like, you ask? Well, “Epoch One” surely sounds like a cool mix of cold Synthwave mixed with some warm Electro-Pop beats and all in all a track that could be heard at Post-Rock festivals as well as in the club as a chill moment in between some rampant stuff. The track is a wonderful breather in the warm summer nights outside - no matter if you are just in your own garden or in front of Berghain, Berlin! One is simply amazed by the track and how it develops through its own passage - and that is exactly what a track from such a big project should feel like, right? It should transpond you through time and space and … change you while doing so!
