Having followed Atsuko Chiba ever since Trace, it was a no-brainer to listen to their upcoming, self-titled record (out since April 24 via Mothland). It is amazing, elegant, reduced and full of little intriguing details that make every spin another journey full of discoveries. Hence it was also a no-brainer for us to seize the opportunity of doing an interview with two of the guy who were able to give us a lot of information on the new record, the differences in songwriting, sound and approach, but also the difficulties in learning to reduce the vast soundscapes or the connection between English Artpop veterans Elbow and the sound of Atsuko Chiba.
