Did we already proclaim our love for the French scene this month? If not, then take the new upcoming record by Tours-based Indie-Rock band Moonback Stage as prime example why we do! Veil of Sound is proud to present their new full-length Echo Process!
Less Psychedelic than SLIFT (or The Baptized for that matter) but also less Post-Rock than for example Lost in Kiev - this young band is more on the nervous, engaging, somewhat hectic side of the “rock spectrum”. Sparkling but angular riffs, pulsating but not crunchy drums, dreamy but not sleepy vocals - that’s the sound of Moonback Stage. The guys have a liking for some little tongue-in-cheek moments (just look at their bandname) and there’s a lot of fun to be found on Echo Process. The seven tracks and 36 minutes of running time are perfect for a nice drive along the French coastline in the summer, system up, windows down, Moonback Stage turned on - and then simply refueling on energy! And let’s be honest - often we don’t even need more! If you like Metz or Lysistrata, then this band is exactly your thing!
