Why Patterns - SCREAMERS

in

There is music that is so Avantgarde that one cannot but admire the skills on display. And then there is the kind of Avantgarde that is still song and that doesn’t try to show anything, but incite everyone, spark everything. A soundtrack for a revolution? Probaby! Who? Why Patterns and their new record SCREAMERS out on Friday. Here’s our latest premiere on VoS for you to go crazy!

“I Don’t Know what you want!” - screamed not at full lung volume, but in a kind of semi-spoken word. There are several moments, when the ten tracks and their 16 minutes of running time (!°!) hit you like a truck - not because Why Patterns are out to kill, but more because they hit you so hard in the back, that you either start to reflect on what they have to say or use the kinetic energy to move forward to the beat(ing of your backbone)! They created a noisey and short bastard of a record that will surely incite a lot of reactions, whether it’s just fistpumping or true slam dance. There are moments, when this band feels like the UK version of Chat Pile or KEN mode, but there is something to their sound that is a bit more avantgarde; maybe it’s the specific crunch on their soundscapes that differentiates from the great comps from Canada or the US. The energy that these two bands deliver with every record and gig is surely something that Why Patterns also strive for; their background in bands like Wren or Warren Schoenbright are surely not to be overlooked but do not think there are any musical parallels. This trio is out to get you by the throat, shake rattle and roll you and then give you something to think about. Or vice versa.

You can pre-order the record via Why Patterns’ own Bandcamp page or via Human Worth’s BC outfit, both links are above. But now, put on your boxing gloves, look for a wall to punch, start listening to SCREAMERS and let’s go!
