Roadburn 2025 Special Interview Number Five: We are coming closer and closer and closer…in less than two weeks the most important pilgrimage will already have started and we here are contemplating which gigs to attend, how to fit food into the schedule and so on. One thing many of us can agree on is the importance of triennium artist Otay:Onii. Not only because of that special status which will bring her to Tilburg every year from now til 2027 - but because of the importance her music holds for many of us. Lane Shi combines so many elements pivotal to the festival - the emotional value of her music, the different approach to songwriting, the multiple genres she’s touching upon. An artist that cannot be boxed into one single category as one can also see by the fact that Lane designs a lot of the merch and things herself. We talked a lot about the different projects she will bring to RB, about her life as a constant migrant, a life in between, so to speak, and much much more.
