Acid Mothers Temple - Hype

Still need a reason to attend Acid Mother’s Temple? Here you go!

When I read that name for the first time years ago, I thought that Acid Mothers Temple was an amazing name for a band. The psychedelic band from Japan is about to make their proper debut on the Roadburn stage; I wrote ‘proper’ because in 2008, two members of the band teamed up with Mani Neumeier of Guru Guru to create an outstanding main-stage freakout as Acid Mothers Guru.

This year will be the first time that the band, guided by Kawabata Makoto, will hit the Tilburg Stage. If you haven’t seen them live, I think that this will be the perfect time: they will be Artists in Residence, performing three unique sets about their past, their present, and their future.

I’ve seen them once last summer and surely was one of the best concerts I’ve seen last year. Explosive performance, improvisation and unpredictability are the things that you can expect, although you can’t be sure of what you will see and hear, just that the band will deliver an amazing concert.

Acid Mother’s Temple will perform on the first three days of Roadburn 2026 as one of the Artists in Residence!
