Stress Positions – why?

Every year there are a handful of bands fitting a certain Hardcore or Punk character - not only attitude-wise but also musically. And this year Stress Positions should be on the must-sees for everybody who loves his songs fast, harsh, aggressive and punchy. Listening to Harsh Reality the last EP of the Chicago-based quartet fronted by energy-volcano Stephanie is like re-discovering bands that could have been featured in the famous American Hardcore-documentary. They surely have a lot to say so between the angular riffs and driving rhythms - sometimes based on the devilish drum-kit or on the bestial bass-strings - and they will neither hold back with their opinions and ideas nor will they try to bath them in suave words. If a situation is fucked up, we should also clearly say so - and Stress Positions surely do so. It will be hard to imagine them ever slowing down, while the idiot imbecile with the temper of a four-year-old is in the White House, the Secretary of Defense is leaking intel, the vice-president is a moron whom my 13-year-old daughter would outperform in any game of Scrabble or Jeopardy! However, do not mistake Stress Positions for a band whose sole topic is politics - no, they also give you introspection and food for thought about the current state of the world in which we all are facing harsh realities which demand us all to punch our fists in the air, vent our anger and despair - but always doing it together. That’s is our only hope and Stress Positions is a perfect soundtrack for it!
Stress Positions will perform on Friday, April 18!
