Kylesa – why?

When a band goes on an indefinite hiatus, you don’t know if you’ll be able to see them live again. Nine years after their announcement Kylesa, the Sludge titans from Georgia (USA), are back, and they choose to start their European tour with the Roadburn gig.
Probably Kylesa was the first Sludge band that I’ve listened to in my adolescence, and for sure they’ve opened my listening to something that I had never known before: heavy guitars and powerful riffs with their mighty distorted and dissonant sounds were something really cool to discover.
Their comeback at Roadburn is something to appreciate, since their powerful but also psychedelic and experimental music is a perfect fit to the festival.
Since their hiatus was announced 9 years ago, this is going to be their first gig. Well, when a band stops playing together for several years, the crowd expectations will be really high, but I’m confident that a group with their experience will be capable of satisfying the attendance. Maybe they’ll present some new songs at the festival? Who knows, I can only suggest you attend their performance at Roadburn!
Kylesa will perform on Thursday, April 17!
