There must be something in the global airs in 2026 that we get return to greatness records from so many different bands and VVB is surely one of these. The first new music in nearly a decade by the Italian squad. La Vita è la Droga della Morte (even in this edited form) brings memories to mind how blown away we all were when we first heard stuff like La Stanza di Swedenborg or their spectacular split with Hemelbestormer. Now we get not only this new song but a whole new record released through the amazing people at Subsound Records. Yes is not only my expression after hearing this amazing track and record, not only a cry or scream of joy but also the record title! Yes, they’re back.

“La Vita è la Droga della Morte”, presented here in an edited version, was the first track the band had composed and recorded in eleven years. It is a heavy/post/gaze journey in the purest Vanessa Van Basten style, the likes of which haven’t been heard since the days of the albums La Stanza di Swedenborg or Closer to the Small / Dark / Door’. Dedicated to that magical era of Italian Post-Rock.</i>
