øjeRum - Four Scenes of Superimposed Innocence

in

I do not know s*** about Dance Music. None at all. But I do know when I like stuff and sometimes I even know why I like stuff. With øjeRum’s new track “Her Name was a Nameless Sky” I understand why I like it. Maybe you will know too after listening to the track which we premiere here on VoS!

As I said I do not know any kind of terminology for this genre, but I might say that the very minimal steady beat, the warmly rolling little soundscapes which sound a bit like a cabasa, the bubbling blops which are very much like 90s Electronica and their rippling wave effects are cool. Think Robert Miles and a lot of that Dream House scene from back then. And then the video for the new track by Danish artist øjeRum! That really did it for me because of its cool minimal vibe, the focus on the hands (quite symbolic for music that seems to have been made by a DJ) and the simplicity of the black and white (yes, there are some greys here and there) is amazing - of course it is, our friend Eeli Helin made it. I mean the track is much more than ten minutes long and feels like three or four minutes only! What an amazing throwback and a song to spin!

Four Scenes of Superimposed Innocence will be released on March 20 (two weeks from now) and can be ordered via Roman Numeral (see the SHOP button above) or from the artist’s BC page. Now let’s bath in these warm 90s Electronica waters again!
