El Ten Eleven - Formerly Fresh

in

Welcome to another premiere here on Veil of Sound - this time we give you a track from the upcoming El Ten Eleven record Nowhere Faster and it highlights a new element in their soundscape: the strings that are wonderfull embedded in the warm, embracing track “Formerly Fresh”. Enjoy the Post-Rock wizards at it again!

Yes, this week will be full of premieres and yes, that means that there is more to come that way. Yesterday it was Goregrind, so of course today it must be some of the most elegant, cinematic Post-Rock one could find in the form of this new track by El Ten Eleven. Kristian and Tim have never had such a long pause in their tenure as a band and if you want to find out more about that lapse, keep your dials locked on our YouTube in the upcoming weeks. But let me assure you - this record was definitely worth the wait!

Now onto “Formerly Fresh” - this track is amazing in everything it gives you: Cowbells, strings, a mighty bass and some of the most upbeat stuff you can expect. Clearly uptempo, but not trying to sprint it out with Bolt, but rather a good race with former 200m champ Michael Johnson out in the Atlanta Olympics. Of course, it has all these things that El Ten Eleven is known for as well: Some shifty drum passages where the strings step back but never vanish, some quirky transfers from there to here to everywhere. And the way that Kristian and Tim work together can be described by one word only: tight!

Nowhere Faster can be ordered via Joyful Noise Recordings’ webstore or via the band’s own Bandcamp page - and now go off to the green fields with the cowbells and the symphonies with the strings, or simply put enjoy “Formerly Fresh”!
