Talking to Frank Binke, the mastermind behind The Light Below is a very enthusiastic thing, because he spreads his love for honest music and for building bridges between cultures into every sentence. Their latest record Georgia, released a few weeks ago via My Proud Mountain, is just that - very honest, no hidden agenda and surely building bridges between diverse cultures because the connection between Georgian folklore (and we’re talking about Georgia, the former Soviet part, not the US state) and heavy, true riffs has not been done this way before and when we get to know that Frank does not listen to this kind of music nowadays but is influenced by something totally different, many of the songs (or should we say movements?) on Georgia make even more sense.
