Uranium - Corrosion of Existence

in

How densely can an Industrial sound carpet be woven? Answer Uranium: Yes. Are you happy to, in a certain way, shatter your ears? Answer VoS: Yes. How melodic and technical can a sound be at the same time? Answer Uranium: Yes. Could this be one of the best records ever released via Sentient Ruin? Answer VoS: Yes. Welcome to the Black Harsh Noise Parade!

A anti-fascist project from the Mid-Atlantic region is trying to blow out all currents and torches, all light and all darkness. Uranium has created something of a supernova with their new record Corrosion of Existence and man, they are going for throat, brain, knees and crotch simultaneously. They harsh effect will lobotomize any kind of notion you had before of “music”, because there is just too much of it. Layering multitutes of sound on top of each other it is nearly impossible to take in any specific element at first spin. This needs time to digest and - even more important - dedication, which of course then urges the question of “Why should I?”. No, don’t get me wrong, you shouldn’t if you like your music lukewarm and slightly purposeless. If you like your music to be an all-encompassing thing to keep you busy with (futile) discernment and analysis - then this is right for you. But if you just like your music to attack you like the poisonous uzi attached to the mechanic arm of the robot you helped design to kill and which is now going for its “masters” - then this little Frankenstein will keep you “happy”.

And before you want to stone me for the “melodic” part in the opening paragraph - listen to the drums in the very background of the track. There is some kind of groove. Or listen to the swirling guitars loops in the later part of the track - there is something resembling melody in there.

Imagine Merzbow had mated with Gnaw their Tongues and are being midwifed by Teitanblood and Escotrilihum - then you get an idea of how utterly disastrous and gloriously mindblowing Uranium is!

You can pre-order the record via Sentient Ruin Laboratories and now let your ears bleed in enjoyment with “Descent into Entropic Death”!
