Rún - modern Irish for “secret” and also the name of a highly interesting new band from Ireland, comprised of three people who surely know what kind of music they want to make, even if it is music that can be very eclectic taking a lot of different influences and then melting and condensing them into the Rún-sound. A sound that fits perfectly to the roster of Rocket Recordings as it’s Psychedelic but not necessarily Psych Rock; it is -gazey but not necessarily Shoegaze, it’s even a kind of Post-Punk. As we talk about Diarmuid MacDiarmada, the brother of Lankum’s Cormac and now also a member of Nurse with Wound, about the record, the way it way conceived and is performed we also get to talk a lot about Irish music, the country and its culture in general. Thus, this is one of these highly interesting talks that we all love! Enjoy the conversation and remember to check out Rún’s self-titled debut LP out on August 22 via Rocket Recordings and let’s make sure that the band does not remain a secret.
