Thor’s American Football dream-team for 2025!
As usual I like to give myself the credit of being too stupid to count and thus I thought I’d go for an offense attack of eleven players on that side of the ball with one record for each position.
Pothamus - Abur Position: Quarterback - the guy who should lead all the others, should be early in the facilities, take his job seriously and make the whole thing for everyone. Pothamus were early, early forerunners for my AOTY of the year and there is not a record that could take the place of Abur
Pyramids - Pythagoras - the center to my offensive line, the guy who hands me the ball, without whom no play can be run. Pyramids and their record do something very similar for me. If you understand this record, you will understand why discovering new stuff and styles will always be at the center of my musical journey.
Stygian Bough - Vol. II and Psychonaut - World Maker My guards, the folks closest to the center who are always fun to be around with but they can be fun on a very different level. Stygian Bough is seeing friends evolve which is wonderful and and Psychonaut’s new record is a testament for future generations. Seeing these bands grow is soothing my love for music and protecting my soul.
thisquietarmy - langue hybride and Unreqvited - A Pathway to the Moon The tackles are maybe THE keys for a successful passing offense, providing the quarterback with time and protection. Both of these album did that, block out everything else, give me time to simply enjoy what they are doing and looking forward to every next spin, every next play.
Maud the Moth - The Distaff The hyperversatile tight end in my 11-personell offense. Muscular at times, quick and airy at others. No other record can fulfill that in 2025 than The Distaff - a strong statement by a woman who is not afraid to be personal.
Backxwash - Only Dust Remains This one was an easy choice because a good running back should be able to move between the lines, the genres, the atmospheres. Should have a clear path ahead - who else but Backxwash here? Vision, aim, intent, shiftiness.
Rún - s/t, 夢遊病者 (Sleepwalker) - РЛБ30011922 and Gláss - s/t The biggest combo - the wide receivers. All of them a bit different, all doing different things, but all of them able to keep afloat, get some air beneath their wings and fly. Also some of the biggest “catches” of 2025!

1. Nine Inch Nails @Lanxess-Arena Cologne. C’mon, anybody who doesn’t love “Closer” must have “hurt” his “head” so that there’s a “hole” in it. Trent still has it!

1. The Philippines - a place so miraculously wonderful that I am hard pressed saying why this is one of the finest destinations for travelling.
2. Seeing the correct order in Bundesliga being restored - take this, Pillendreher-Verein
3. Seeing how students can still be fascinated and eager to learn - you just have to take them seriously and work with an exciting book. Thanks, Mrs. Atwood!
