Need a reason to attend Prostitute? Here you go!
Let’s be clear - when going to a concert, the first track is crucial as it will set the tone for the whole gig, whether we are caught or disinterested. And man, if Prostitute start their set with “Attempted Martyr”, the title track of their debut full-length from October 2024, then we will all be engaged to the max. The wailing sounds, the riffs, the weird saxophone noises, the whole thing! As close to perfection as Noise-Rock might come, because it should never be 100% perfect, as one of the key elements for good genre tracks is the little, tiny imperfections. And in that sense, Prostitute are nearly perfect! They might appear like a Noise-Rock version of Mamaleek and in some ways that could be the best comparison, because Prostitute are somewhat in a genre of their own, as are the brilliant Bay Area arrangeurs. Do not sleep on this Prostitute gig, it is to be as much on your watch list as any other gig!
