Fauna present an organic take on propulsive, groove laden psychedelic dance music. If that sounds like a lot, then all you need to do is dial down that mistrust, and sink into their sonic rituals. In fact no, sink is completely the wrong word, you don’t sink into it, you get dragged along for the ride, through the undergrowth from which they take their name, all of the spiky, forgiving luscious nature of it.
Pulled along like a taut bungee chord, you are no more able to escape it’s rhythms as you are to detach a leg and turn it into a scarf. This 8-piece Swedish groove machine started life as an improptu jam session between seasoned artists as a way of exploring avenues other than the ones they were used to. Soon finding an unstoppable life of its own (you can’t contain this much melody, it’s like trying to pin water to the wall) the band were creating energetic sounds pulling as much form the underground rave scene as it did from their rock roots. So, if you feel like letting your hair down and getting pulled along with a vibe you can’t control, and lets face it, who doesn’t want that in today’s harsh reality, then go and put a smile on your face by watching Fauna, it’ll be one damn good decision.
