“My music is rooted in Industrial, but to […] traditional Industrial people, they do not generally like me.” King Yosef makes Industrial music and his approach to making music is also HipHop oriented, it’s Noise-ladden, it’s got Shoegaze in all the right places - tl;dr it’s music for the 21st century because nowadays mash-ups, collages, cut’n’paste, snippet’n’dippet is the most normal thing to do. What is not normal about his music is that is grabs you by the throat right away and still grows on you with every spin. That speaks for two levels of his music: it had a knack for melody and appeal, and it contains a lot of depth and layers. It is as if Aphex Twin teamed up with Swing Kids, or the Pixies with My Bloody Valentine - yet none of these tracks sound anything like either of these bands. Am I completely nuts or is this one of the most interesting releases of 2025? Hence, we had to sit down with Yosef and talk it through. Enjoy and tell us what you think about his latest record Spire of Fear?
