The Color of Cyan - As Human

in

Electrical Audio is a fantastic spot to record any kind of record, but I think, that especially Post-Rock is done there to the T - just think of MONO. And now Chicago-based collective The Color Of Cyan graces us with the chance of listening to their new songs recorded live. We are proud to give you their video for the performance of “Hail The Mountains”!

Many people will draw comparisons to SubRosa and Godspeed You! Black Emperor because of the many string instruments and the generally high number of musicians involved. However, the Color of Cyan are a wonderfully independent band. They are a little less dramatic than GY!BE and a little less muscular than SubRosa - they are working much more in the vein of Mono and some other spectacular Post-Rock bands which love to work with arpeggios and tremolos to create something one might also call crescendo-core.

The Color of Cyan paints incredible pictures of, yes, mountains and these are capped with mellow snowpeaks. The moody track we are presenting today “talks” about the resilience of people, even in the face of adversity. How able we all are when we are facing hardships and having to pull through. In that sense, the Color of Cyan are a band that we all need in times like these - a band that gives us hope and a sense of community. Together we will get through!

Believe me, “Hail the Mountains” is not the only amazing track on their new upcoming record, that will be released on September 5th and you can already pre-order As Human> through the band’s Bandcamp or via A Thousand Arms.
