Varhara Video Premiere 2

Varhara - The First Breath After (Video Premiere 2)

in

About a month ago, we were lucky to premiere the first song and video from Varhara’s upcoming and highly anticipated third album The First Breath After, which will be released on These Hands Melt on June 20th and is available for digital pre-order. Today, we present to you the mighty second song from the new album accompanied by a haunting video.

The song is called ”Prazdnik (Celebration)”, and the video is filmed and edited by Olga Kann (multi-artist and the force behind the Belarusian band Withered Land). The video for the song is as gloomy as the mighty music. It is slow and measured, and has iconic scenes fitting the Atmospheric Sludge Metal music. Below the music´s dense and melodic riffs, the drums are a driving force, and the bass is heaving and sinking. The vocals are fierce growling screams, contrasting with the vigorous oktavist-induced Orthodox Russian male choir that rises in the middle of the track. Adding to this heavy and dense atmospheric music, there are ever-present soaring synths that hover above the music.

This second song and video released from the upcoming album shows, just like the , that Varhara´s music has all the creative and forceful hallmarks that we recognise from the St Petersburg metal scene.

If you want to preorder the record, which will be out in a few weeks, visit the Bandcamp page of These Hands Melt or also on Varhara’s Bandcamp!
