When we hear Atmospheric Black Metal, our ears go up. When it’s the kind incorporating their non-conventional musical roots in the form of folk elements, we listen. When it’s Romanian Atmospheric Post-Black Metal outfit Genune, we are in love. VoS proudly presents their new single “The Sun Will Always Shine”!
Some years ago, our wonderful writer Gene wrote a review on a record by a Romanian Post-Black Metal band, it was one of our earliest reviews as we have only launched VoS a month before. And well, what should I say - the review was a huge success because it was picked up by our beloved brothers in music, Consouling Sounds, and they then released the record later on! So of course we had to do this premiere - but we did not only do it for nostalgia’s sake!
We would have done so anyway, because “The Sun will Always Shine” is just a huge track, powerful to the max, with loads of mesmerizing clean vocals, huge blast beats, enchanting Post-Rock guitar lines and even a perfectly embedded piano part. The track simply is a masterpiece in how to construct Post-Black Metal tracks (or Atmospheric Black Metal, if you prefer that term) need to be constructed. The five-piece should definitely be catapulted into stardom with this track, so everybody knows the name and follows the path they have been on for several years now and that comes full circle on the upcoming third full-length “Infinite Presence”!
