When listening to Xiu Xiu you are either automatically disturbed or automatically enchanted. The former maybe because you feel as if music needs to serve your expectations - it doesn’t. The latter because you know that Jamie and Angela, the Xiu Xiu core, are able to always come up with a, miraculously new, idea, new soundscape, new aesthetic. Not one of hate, albeit, but rather one of trying to find a way to live with yourself in this complicated day and age.
