Aortes from Vilnius, Lithuania are surely no newcomwers and have a few releases by now. However, their take on Blackened Post-Metal is always interesting, because they have found a very sweet spot - the one between Dark Americana and Post-Black Metal. Well, today is an unusual date in the VoS world as we never published anything on February 29th before? ;-) But as the chance came up for this premiere we of course jumped right at it. Aortes trusted us with doing the premiere for their new single and man, we were blown away once again. The way they position themselves right on the heels of Neurosis and their dark, earthy soundscapes with long build-ups is always “catchy” and when the vocals then set in and sound much more like Colin H. Van Eeckhout than Steve von Till it adds this second layer that one might now have expected before but that totally makes sense! All of that is true for “Lifeless” as well which once again proves these guys here to be on to something mighty powerful!
