If you ask people in our little scene which Math-Rock records are the quintessential ones then you will probably hear the title American Don by Don Caballero very, very often. The record is one of the very best ones you can listen to in this genre or any genre, that is. It flows, it glides, it winds down and up (simultaneously) and it definitely opens the ears and eyes to many new perspectives. On March 27, the record will be rereleased by Touch and Go Records in a glorious Triple-Gatefold-Triple Deluxe Edition and as we got the chance to one of the guys responsible for American Don, we didn’t hesitate and talked to Eric Emm about the record, the band and its history, his relation to Don Cab before joining the band and much more, including Tanlines, the band he has had for a long time now!
