Interview with Frédéric Leclerq (Sinsaenum, Kreator, Dragonforce etc.)

Sinsaenum - In Devastation

in

Most of the times, bands that could be categorized as “supergroups” despise the term. When talking to Frédéric Leclerq one gets the notion that he likes the fact that he has played and plays in several huge bands but that he sees Sinsaenum as a group of friends who perform his songs with him. That these friends are Attila Csihar, Heimoth, Sean Zatorsky, Stéphane Buriez or the late Joey Jordison is something that will mostly impress us, the audience, but not Frédéric. Sinsaenum released their latest record In Devastation two days ago and in parts this is a testament to a multiple series of deaths in his closest family and circle of friends, including his father’s and Joey’s. However, one should not expect a lament in minor keys - the record still has a somehow good vibe, there are several amazing tracks on it and knowing that most of the things on the record come out of Frédéric’s mind makes it even more impressive. We sat down with him to chat about nearly everything related to the record and it was very nice to hear him talk very openly about many personal things!
